Greetings from Brazil...
It is with great pleasure that I report on our recent activities here in Brazil. I arrived in Brazil on June 26th after a short furlough break. I visited many of our churches in the West Indies, promoting our mission endeavors here in Brazil. Our churches were very receptive and are excited about what we are doing and all of them pledged to continue their support for the Brazil mission.
There were some Church issues to deal with on my return to brazil but God is good and is answering our prayers and working things out for us. In an effort to reduce cost, we have decided to join the Botafogo and Banderia work. We are still working out the details of it but so far it is a smooth transition.
Our five other churches are showing significant growth. We are planning a joint baptismal service in August this year, where each pastor will present their candidates to be baptized.
Our Feeding center and Restoration home have also shown great improvement. Thanks to the special contribution from Friends of the Mc Dowells we were able to complete electrical wiring and installed a Frontgate at the feeding center. We were also able to add ten more beds to the Restoration home and fixed the roof over the kitchen area. We are now housing 65 students at the home.
In order for the feeding center to be recognized and receive assistance from the government we are required to have a full-time social worker, apart from some other stipulations. This means we will now have to raise an additional U$1000 per month to pay the social worker. We are believing God to make a way for us to meet these requirements.
Preparation is on the way to have ministers from the various PAWI Districts to come and do special training with our Brazilian leaders in specific areas, over the next two years.
My sincere thanks and appreciation to the PA W I - World Mission Agency for their hard work and commitment to the Brazil project. I also would like to thank the pastors and missions directors of the various districts that accommodated me on my visits to their districts.
For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love, which ye have showed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. And we desire that every one of you do show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: Heb 6:10, 11
